Fall Trip with the Wild Mustangs Pt. 2
Fall Trip with the Wild Mustangs Pt. 2
Continuing from my post the other day, with more images to share. This post has even more wild mustang photos, so sorry, not sorry.
I find it generally impossible to whittle down my photos to what I want to share here, what I do share is probably 5% of what a actually take and keep. I try to give a good feel for the lives of these wonderful mustangs, and what it’s like to share in those moments, even for a short time.
I always like to see a good scuffle, and this pinto was all about it. He came racing in one day, and took on any bachelor stallion who would play with him.
Over the week, he did this several times. His sire is a bit of a fighter too, well he was in his younger days, so he inherited all this go to, that’s for sure.
Handsome guy for sure, just like his dad. Check out my post on the Wild Mustangs Forever Facebook page of some photos of this guy as a foal.
Of course there are always minor disagreements with the stallions. This time of year, they don’t get very serious about it though. Keeping their skills sharp is about it.
That’s my boy, keeping his mare safe, and away from the other guys.
She’s a beauty! No wonder he takes such good care of her.
But then, she got the best looking stallion out there.
Speaking of favorites. Any day this guy shows up is a good day. He’s got to be one of, if not the oldest stallion on the range now. He’s hanging by himself, but he sure looks good. Maybe he’s over all the stallion drama. Lol.
Another oldie, but goodie. I’ve always loved his long mane.
The rest of these photos are just a random assortment of goodness I wanted to share, and thought you would enjoy too.
I’m not sure what prompted this sudden need to be someplace else, but it was pretty cool to see.
You have to love a dark moody sky.
And the remaining sunflowers.
Walk past that tree, please! The light, lines and shadows here were amazing.
Dust bath!
Perfect silhouette.
Sunset, the golden hour. My favorite time.
The sun sets everyday. Be sure to watch at least some of them.
I’ve been adding photos to my website, Mary Hone Photography, but if there is something in these posts that speaks to you, that you would love to hang on your wall, just let me know.
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing the photos and “seeing” the mustangs as if we are there!
Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos and horses!
I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite photo. You get the best of these beautiful mustangs. Thank you for the photos and your wonderful puzzles.
Every single one of these photos speaks volume about the treasure the mustangs are to the American people native and non-native alike. The mustangs must not be displaced by cattle. Would that I could stop the powers that be from removing the mustangs.
Thank you again for showing us the beauty of their lives.
These are beautiful, Mary. Thank you so much for sharing the beauty of the mustangs you’ve seen
Thank you for sharing these amazing photos. I feel like I was there with you enjoying these magnificent creatures ❤️
